Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), international organization dedicated to representing the interests and aspirations of developing countries. The NAM was founded and held its first conference in under the leadership of Josip Broz Tito, Gamal Abdel Nasser, Jawaharlal Nehru, Kwame Nkrumah, and Sukarno.   The Asian-African Conference of held in Bandung was the catalyst for the establishment of the Non-Aligned Movement. The actual formation took place in Belgrade, where the Non-Aligned Movement was formally established by the leaders of 25 developing countries in In my recent book, The Non-Aligned Movement: Genesis, Organization and Politics (), I expose how the NAM became a new actor in international politics.
